Supervision

AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Sex Therapy Supervisor

Supervision is the bridge between theory and practice, guiding clinicians in translating knowledge into effective interventions and ethical decision-making

Like an artist, a therapy supervisor must have a deep understanding of their medium. In this case, my medium is the therapy process and the interpersonal dynamics that come with it. I have have 15 years of clinical experience and have taught many courses on clinical theory and sex therapy. That experience has given me the wisdom to understand different theories and techniques of therapy and be able to teach them to my supervisees. I also have a keen eye for detail meaning that I am able to spot the nuances of the therapeutic process and provide specific guidance and feedback to supervisees.

In my supervision, I bring a strong sense of intuition and creativity. I am able to think outside the box and help my supervisees develop their own unique approaches to therapy. I can adapt to different situations and tailor my guidance to the needs of my supervisees.

I provide a supportive and structured environment for supervisees to learn and grow, but I also give them the freedom to experiment and explore their own ideas and approaches. By providing this type of guidance and support, I help supervisees develop their own unique styles and approaches to therapy, just like a artist helps creatives find their own voices. And in doing so, I hope that the therapy profession continues to evolve and grow as an artform with a myriad of colorful voices bringing new perspectives and ideas to the field!
